A short story on “Constructing a Beanstalk” which had great influence on my career which I have lost in the loaner program. Can anyone provide information on which book it was published in? I recall it was included in a compilation.

Good memory. I think the original essay was called, "To Build a Beanstalk" (or "How to Build ...").
The sci fi based on the concept was called "Ringworld" -- it turns out by Larry Niven rather than Ray Bradbury (just looked it up).
