dandelionMemories of Reading Ray's Work in School
As far as assigned work by Ray Bradbury read in school, I remember just one short story. All other works I read on my own. This must have been in tenth grade. The story "The Dragon" was in our school textbook and our teacher had some of the students read it aloud. At one point in the story someone exclaims, "Lord!" This boy named Billy read that line so funny that the whole class burst out laughing. I believe this is the first and only time I read this particular story.
Incidentally, there is a nearly identical story entitled "The Strange Valley" by T. V. Olsen, only with American Indians instead of knights. Bradbury's story was originally published in 1955 and Olsen's in 1968.
