How I remember the first moon landing is that during my first grade year there was a lot of buildup to it. I couldn't believe it was the first landing. I guess I must have seen pictures of the moon and assumed someone had been there, but they kept insisting it was the first, so okay. My memory is we moved that day and I missed the actual landing. WRONG! I've determined from records my dad kept and memories of my sisters and myself that we must have moved on July 4. The landing was on the 20th. Dad also claimed we were just moving and us kids had to sit on the floor to watch the landing as there was no furniture yet. ALSO WRONG. According to his records all the furniture had arrived by the 5th. That's the Mandela effect for you. Us kids did sometimes sit on the floor. I remember nothing of any of this. I do remember the later landings.
