Rout 66

In a History Channel special on Rout-66 an anecdote was told about a period in the 1930’s when indigent labor was hired at low wages to pave the road through Oklahoma. Each night a group of Oklahomans would take a portable gramophone out to the road and dance on the newly paved surface. They continued to do this until the paved surface reached into Texas. When I heard this, all I could think of was Mr. Bradbury.

jkt, do you think Mr. B would address the crew here with a current view of things Bradburian?! He has not slowed down (as you know as well as anyone!), stuff new coming out from all angles, and loyal cyberay fans would get a real kick out of a hello here on The Board!

(J: We received a very kind signed Marionettes, Inc., from him after returning from our CA meeting this summer. Thanking "us" for traveling out!? Imagine! The honor was all ours!! We also traveled RT 66 on the way back. Many of the sights did seem straight from the pages of RB.)

Santa Clara, CA, now the "Official End of the Road for Rt. 6-6." We traveled from CA to NM catching stretches of true Americana 66 presented.
