Back when I was a teenager, I was walking down LakeShoreDrive in Chicago and met Van Johnson walking the other way. I had him sign what I was carrying, the daily newspaper. He commented on the front page story, but not much more, since I didn't really know much about him other than recognizing him on the street. Moments like that you wish you had the smarts to know what to talk about and be able to at least carry on a decent conversation.
