Bill, check out this website:
http://keepvid.com/It gives a simple way to download video files from the likes of YouTube.
To be able to play the files back later, you will also need an FLV Player - do a Google search and you should find one easily.

fanboyI use a free program called Pod Tube for mac, also There's one called Tube Sock, but I think that one is shareware. Pod Tube converts to mp4 and put in your iTunes (most of the time - it's a little buggy at times)
