Ray Bradbury and Spaceship Earth
Hi,
I am doing a research project on Spaceship Earth at EPCOT and am trying to find out as much as I can about what Ray did on development of the story.

Thanks,

If you have gone on the ride in the EPCOT globe, which I am sure you have, perhaps more than once living in Orlando, you may remember as the ride crawls up through the globe and you see all the panoramas telling the story of civilization and its accomplishments. I believe this is what Ray developed, the narative and concept.

Perhaps you contact the Disney people and they could tell you. Or I could call Ray and ask him, but I called him yesterday and I don't like to disturb him that often. He nevers seems like it is an intrusion and always thanks me for calling, but why ruin a good thing.

As many know, Disney hired Ray Bradbury to help develop the storyline and script for an Epcot attraction that focused on the history of communication. This attraction later became Spaceship Earth. The link below will take you to an interesting article about Ray's involvement in that project:

And the below link will take you to a copy of Ray's 1977 Spaceship Earth concept script for Disney's Epcot:

Finally, here is a brief article about Ray's script:
