Bradbury's "Killer, Come Back to Me" on 8/28 "It's a Mystery"
In honor of Ray Bradbury's recent birthday, the Aug 28th broadcast of my radio show "It's a Mystery" will feature the Molle Mystery Theater production of "Killer, Come Back to Me." This production is an adaptation of a 1944 short story by Bradbury in which a man (Richard Widmark) strangely resembles a dead gangster.

"It's a Mystery" is Webcast on Mondays at 11AM ET at http://www.fcac.org/webr

Since the new Ray Bradbury crime story collection KILLER, COME BACK TO ME is due to be released by Hard Case Crime in August of this year, I thought folks might enjoy listening to the radio version of the title story to that collection. I am therefore bumping up this thread from several years ago. (Check the various older threads...you never know what you might come across!)

The short story "Killer, Come Back to Me" originally appeared in the July, 1944 issue of the crime pulp magazine DETECTIVE TALES. The story was subsequently adapted for radio, and was presented on the Molle' Mystery Theater on May 17, 1946. The radio version starred a very young Richard Widmark, who would shortly thereafter achieve film stardom (and an Academy Award nomination) for his chilling portrayal of the giggling, psychopathic hoodlum Tommy Udo in the classic 1947 film noir, KISS OF DEATH. You can click on the link below to listen the 1946 radio version of "Killer, Come Back to Me". Enjoy!
