some one told me that Ray wrote a lot of scripts for the original Star Trek

dandelionSomeone told you wrong. There's probably a fan site or some other source listing who wrote all the scripts.

http://www.thelogbook.com/log/tosmenu.html A number of "real" science fiction and fantasy writers wrote scripts for Trek (Theodore Sturgeon, Robert Bloch, Harlan Ellison, Richard Matheson, Jerome Bixby, Jerry Sohl, David Gerrold, George Clayton Johnson), but Ray wasn't one of them.
I have read that he was one of many writers invited to pitch scripts for the first Star Trek movie.
