*lil_miss*help on F451
Ok guys, quick question...everyone says that censorship and propergandA are the major themes in F451...is this true and if so where and when does this book explore this???

Nard KordellTHAT theme is...interwoven throughout the entire book. Sorry... you have to read the darn thing....
(Some really kind person on the postings here may render a particular chapter and verse...)

Mr. DarkYou need to read the book to understand the themes, arguments and characters. No one here can point you to one spot that encapsulates all the themes and ideas in one paragraph.
Besides, I definitely do not want to be the one to give you an excuse to avoid reading a book that just could change your life!

studentone of the other important things you should mention is The conflict between the charachters,Especially Montag and his wife Mildred. Also consider to write about the symbolism- the Pheonix how it symbalises rebirth after death(just as Montag- he continuly is reborn like the bird(pheonix) as his views/charachter changes throughout the story and in the end he is reborn

pterranThe symbolism of the phoenix doesn't work for me. Montag may continually change throughout the story and, in the end, is "reborn," but that point can be made for just about any story if you believe that a story is simply the chronicle of the change a character goes through.

Curious to know just how many of these lambasting posters read the darn book.
