Information on the painter Peter Goodfellow
we all know that RB chooses carefully the covers of his books, at least that's what I've learned from his words, so I need to know more about the suposedly painter of one of the covers of LAM, I've tried but the one I found was born in 1950 and he basically paints Scotish landscapes, do you think that's the one? Thanks for your help

Ana,

I have done some web searching and, like you, have found reference to the landscape painter. Having looked at his CV, I find it hard to believe this is the same Peter Goodfellow. The science fiction cover artist is incredibly prolific, and has been nominated for awards several times - I would expect there to be some reference to this in his CV.

I have checked various SF references, and can find no biographical information at all on the "real" Peter Godfellow. The best my detective work can come up with is this: the most recent cover art of his that I can find reference to (in the library catalogue of the Science Fiction Foundation, Liverpool University, UK) is for a book published in 2001. (Details at Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0575072202/qid%3D1072522127/026-3390647-74972 52 ). Maybe contacting that publisher (Victor Gollancz, UK) would get you some information.

You could also try contacting some experts on British science fiction, such as Andy Sawyer at the SF Foundation ( http://www.liv.ac.uk/~asawyer/sffchome.html ), or famous SF fan David Langford (via his home page http://www.dcs.gla.ac.uk/SF-Archives/Ansible/ )

I hope some of this helps. Please keep us informed of your research.
