The Veldt
Hi all. I'm a theatre student looking to put up a performance of The Veldt. I know it was adapted for the stage after its original publication in The Illustrated Man. Just having trouble tracking info on the play-version. If anyone has info on the play and/or who has the rights, please either post or e-mail. It's an amazing piece that has lotsa relevance to our world today, I think!

Thanks much,
Jennifer

As I recall, "The Veldt" appeared in one of Ray's two paperback books of plays, "The Wonderful Ice Cream Suit" and "Pillar of Fire." In my experience, both are pretty hard to find, particularly "Pillar of Fire."

You might also try Ray's literary agents, Don Congdon Associates, in New York City. Here is a link to their website:

Jennifer, the link to their website has been posted here before, but the theatrical script for "The Veldt" (as well as information on performance rights) is available from The Dramatic Publishing Company in Woodstock, Illinois. Just click on the following link, search by author by typing in Ray Bradbury's name, and it should give you the information you are looking for.
