Connection with Hugh Heffner and Playboy
I just finished watching a special on Hugh Heffner and the Playboy mansion/legacy and it reminded me of something quite astonishing that I read not long ago. In a new forward in F451, Bradbury tells the story of how he came to first publish the story. My favorite part was that he published a portion of it, entitled, The Fireman, in an early edition of Playboy! Hugh Heffener himself ran the story and because of that magazine's popularity, Bradbury got his kickoff. No one else was bold enough to print somethin about book burning, but Hugh Heffner who was running a questionable business at that time had the guts and helped launch Bradbury's brilliant carreer as a wonderful writer, poet, and novelist. Who knows, would we even have many of Bradbury's works if Hugh Heffner had never published The Fireman in Playboy?

Yes, and Bradbury gave favorable comments on the A&E Biography of Hefner.
