Mog the Dog here. Happy birthday to my favorite author on my favorite day of the year! My favorite human companion is celebrating her 46th today, and we hoped to make the trip down to Glendale today for the party at the bookstore, but life circumstances have insisted that we remain precisely 38.2 miles southwest of Allendale, CA for our own celebratory event.

Since this posting celebrated Ray Bradbury's 89th birthday (has it really been 15 years?), I thought this would be a good spot for the link below. It will take you to a few minutes of the 89th birthday celebration for Ray at the late, lamented Mystery and Imagination Bookshop in Glendale, California:
This was a wonderful celebration, indeed! We travelled cross country with our two (then) young boys to take part in this treasured celebratory event with Mr. Bradbury, which was attended by so many of his dear friends. That evening at the Fremont Theatre, in Pasadena, a few of his stories were performed live on stage, followed by more visiting time with Mr. B and some fine refreshments.
Ironically, last week we made our third trip to Indy and the Ray Bradbury Center. It offers a truly outstanding presentation of All Things RB on the I.U.I campus.
The two Youngsters in the video always enjoyed reading Mr. Bradbury's stories and then speaking with him personally on his birthday! Thank you, Mr. Bradbury!!

Great Find!! What a magnificent rendition synchronized perfectly with the lifetime works of Mr. Bradbury! Since our recent trip to the Ray Bradbury Center, I have been revisiting files I had saved during the wonderful exchanges we shared with Mr. Bradbury for so many treasured years. In one letter, sent during my final classroom year, I named and thanked Mr. B for the tales I was able to enjoy reading with my secondary students.
Richard, as this video is concluding, the titles flying across the screen brought back memories of those great stories and the characters within them. Much appreciated!
It is on my "To Do List," in the coming days, to forward a highly supportive letter to I.U.I. The RBC has received fine support from the University, especially following the dedicated efforts of Dr. Jon Eller and international input from Dr. Phil Nichols. However, the City of Indianapolis will benefit greatly as this facility becomes even more widely recognized as the "Treasure to American Literature" it truly is! The RBC staff is dedicated to this goal! Thank you, Mr. Bradbury.
