A little satire to lighten our Wall Street woes:
I "believe" we will all need to "work harder," comrade, if such change occurs:

I was actually kind of hoping to see a "Hillary/Barack" ticket, but before the rise of Barack (say a couple years ago), I was hoping for a "Gore/Hillary" ticket. I really want to see the man become president one day, especially considering that he actually won an election (the 2000).

What's a guy gotta do to get into the White House? I guess it wouldn't hurt to have several Su-preme Court justices appointed by your daddy years earlier rendering a decision on whose votes can or cannot be counted, or have a brother be the governor of the state in question - a brother who "guaranteed" a win in Florida.

During the 2004 DNC, Barack gave the keynote, and upon hearing him, I said he's going to be president one day. I just didn't figure this soon!

I saw a great bumber sticker the other day:
BU ll SH it. His pathetic attempt at acting Presidential in the midst of the financial collapse of his de-regulatatory government was almost surreal, almost like a parody on SNL. How far the USA has fallen that we have such an incompetent as our leader. Fix the problem, elect smarter leaders!

W? I thought the pathetic attempt at "acting" presidential pretty much covered the last eight years or so.

The last two terms have been surreal!

May I intrude here with some facts?

What's with House Speaker Nancy (Talk about two heart beats away from the Presidency) calling a vote when she knew 90 or more Democratic representatives would vote NO on the bailout? Or Barney Frank taking in the zzZZs when the crisis formed? (He even had a house of prostitution ring going on in his own home and didn't know it! Just how asleep can one be?) Now he and Connecticut Dodd are in charge of fixing the whole mess. How is that?? Let's not forget Bill Clinton creating the sub-prime lending or Jimmy Carter for the Community Reinvestment Act. In fact, let's thanks a whole list of Democrats for this mess. And for House Speaker Pelosi lambasting the Republicans right before the vote yesterday was infantile.

And another subject of Pelosi, her stupid ideas of the Roman Catholic Church (and she exclaiming to be a member), caught the ire of so many Catholics, including the Archbishop of Colorado. She was to appear before a number of high ranking Catholics to answer to them about her pro-abortion beliefs. Bishop of Colorado was pushing to prevent her from taking Holy Communion. But the fiscal crisis has put this meeting on hold. In fact, Biden, also a Roman Catholic, is being talked to about not receiving communion. Roman Catholicism has always been against abortion. A number of breakaway voices wishing to be heard does not representative the official Catholic doctrine. Never has. Never will. But Pelosi seems to think so. And she is two heart beats away from the Presidency and can't even keep the simple facts straight of her own faith.

65 Republicans joined 140 Democrats in voting "yes," while 133 Republicans and 95 Democrats voted "no."

According to Yahoo News. Pelosi obviously anticipated more republicans would vote for the bailout plan.

Look at what happened when they didn't? 777 points. Down the tube.

Bill Clinton was the inventor of the sub-prime lending plan. Go tell Barney Frank, who heads the House Financial Services Committee. The House Financial Services Committee is responsible for watching over the entire financial services industry. In other words, Barney Frank is supposed to watch over the workings of the securities, the insurance, banking and housing industries. Okay, Frank, where were you during the creation of this mess? Now you want the Republicans to bail you Democrats out?

Bail the Democrats out? This is for the entire country's well-being. You're acting like we'd do just fine without the bailout.

That's the problem. Many consider that this tends to Socialism. Government bailing out vast companies and industries. Many Democrats and Republicans think that letting the market take care of itself instead of bailing it out is the answer. Where you get the idea that you think that without this bailout everything is fine, is likened to those who think everything will be fine with a bail-out. This set back everything about 10+ years, but this is a drift towards Socialism. Think of those issues down the road.

How did this happen?
The original rescue/bailout papers were drawn up on 3 sheets of paper. When the House voted the other day, it reached over 150 pages. On the voting for tonight, voting by the House, the number of pages has reached exactly:::

451 pages

How did that number happen? A good temperature to just burn that whole pile to ashes, and burn the ashes to...

How appropriate...451!!

Screaming in the wilderness!? That's only $1,552,106,430.16 per page. Montag would be up to the task. "It was a pleasure to burn!"
