My Two Favorite Short Stories By Mr. Bradbury
The Woman on the Lawn
The Laurel and Hardy Love Affair

Both of these stories touch me greatly. Just to give an example is from The Laurel and Hardy Love Affair when she (Stan) leaves his (Hardy's)apartment:

"The hall was already empty. The air where she had passed was just coming back togather. Thunder threatened when the two halves met. There was a promise of rain."

My God, what a powerful description for two people ending their relationship together! I almost cried reading that part but if that wasn't enough to put me through their passing (secret) reunion in France fifteen years later made me immediately go to my wife and hold on to her.

Powerful, POWERFUL words!

"The Laurel and Hardy Love Affair" is probably one of my top 20 favorite Ray Bradbury stories. Who knows - possibly even top 10.

I'm pleased I'm not alone!

Yep. That is a great line. One of the powerful things about Bradbury (besides that fantastic imagination of his) was his use of language/metaphor. The title, "the poet of Science Fiction" was an apt one.
