philnic, take a look at the signed, limited edition broadsides/portraits offered by Mushroom Plant Graphics. There are four authors still available: Robert Bloch, Harlan Ellison, Richard Matheson, and Ray. Each print is composed by reproducing the text from one of the writer's short stories. In Ray's case, it is "Homecoming." The prints are $50 each. I have the four prints still available (King and Poe are sold out), and can verify they are attractive and well done.

Very smart. Are the stories really readable? The partial blow-up of the Stephen King one looks a bit difficult to read. (Not that I would seriously sit and read the thing - I'm just curious.)

Interesting (to me) that the four remaining available writers are among my favourites!

philnic, the stories are indeed readable, but the appearance of the words of the story for each is the same as the Stephen King "blown up" sample. You do need to get close to read the words. I must confess I bought the prints for the images and the signatures, and would probably find and read the story in one of the author's collections before I tried to read it from one of the prints!

It was quite a while ago that these prints were discussed on this site, but someone with the moniker Screamin' Geek Media posted a video on YouTube (which can be accessed via the link below), showcasing three of the prints...Ray Bradbury, Robert Bloch and Stephen King...that he bought many years ago. I have the first two, as well as the Edgar Allan Poe, Richard Matheson and Harlan Ellison prints, but am missing the Stephen King. The link to the website which offered them for sale (included in my 2008 posting above) no longer works. However, the prints are very nicely done, and worth keeping an eye out for.

Do they turn up on eBay, Etsy, or any other resale site?

Incidentally, the link to the Ray Bradbury poster offered by RJ: Design Posters which was included in philnic's first post above no longer works. However, that poster is still available, and the link below will take you to the current listing:

Seek and you can (sometimes) find. The link below will take you to the only copy of Ray Bradbury's signed HOMECOMING print, published by Mushroom Plant Graphics, that I could find for sale on-line. Unfortunately, and not surprisingly, it no longer sells for $50!

Mr. Bradbury was ultra-generous with his fans who reached out to him! How was he able to find time to keep up with so many letters and requests received, no doubt, on a daily basis?!

Following a unit which included reading Something Wicked This Way Comes and viewing the movie, my students were assigned a special project which called for original student drawings, compositions, and even poetic expressions pertaining to their interpretations. All were packaged and sent to Mr. Bradbury's home address.

For many following years, a framed copy of this poster, which had been autographed with a special message to the students, celebrated the friendship Mr. B shared with a small town group of secondary students and their teacher.

(The poster is still displayed and enjoyed on a wall in our home.)

Ironically, just two evenings ago we attended an end of summer outdoor blues concert at a nearby community park. The small river next to the stage was mirror-like, reflecting the warm colors of an early autumn sunset. Amazing! The young man who was the lead performer was a former student whom I had not seen in possibly fifteen years.

When my wife and I approached him at the conclusion of the performance, he called my name out immediately, and we shared a firm handshake. He actually insisted on an appreciative embrace. The many compliments we sent his way for his truly impressive array of historic blues selections were humbly received. The young man then highlighted the evening by recalling how Ray Bradbury selections had inspired his imagination "way back then" and were a very important part of his own creative path.

Thank you, Mr. Bradbury!
