Marathon Read of Fahrenheit 451 on October 2
A marathon read of Ray Bradbury's classic story of censorship and book burning, Fahrenheit 451, will take place on Saturday October 2, 2004 on the CSU Fullerton campus.

Organized by library students in the San Jose State University School of Library and Information Science the marathon read is in conjunction with ALA's Banned Books Week (September 25 - October 2).

Reading will be continuous from noon until 8:00 PM, with each person reading aloud from Fahrenheit 451 for 10-minutes.

If you are interested in being a reader, please let us know by noon on Wednesday September 22. Send an email with the subject line 'Reader - BBW' to lissten_news@yahoo.com and indicate the hour block(s) that you are available (noon, 1, 2, 3, etc.). We will notify you of your reading time via email by Monday 9/27/04.

Darn! I will be missing it by six days due to arriving at Long Beach airport on the 8th. This sounds like a fantastic idea and I hope that you have a great response to your call for readers.
