Maeve Binchy, Irish national literary treasure.

I've read nothing of hers, but a friend recommended her novel Whitethorn Woods, which I bought but then gave away to another friend because I thought the second friend was more likely to enjoy the book.

Sadly, the second friend later told me that she'd misplaced the book without reading it.

Now I feel that ms Binchy's book deserved to be read and loved, so I hope to find it again and read it as a tribute to its much admired author.

RIP.

I got an old G.I. Combat comic book signed by him at Wondercon, he was so nice, smiling and gracious.

Joe Kubert! Oh, no ... I have wonderful childhood memories of his scarred, tattered, pockmarked Sgt. Rock. Splendidly mannered, iconic comic art.

Thanks for the memories, Joe. Rest well.
