The Leave Taking...
Okay, color me bummed. Just Googled the author of my favorite book (not Ray, but one I read three years before I started reading his) and found her obituary. http://longfuneralhomecamden.c...y.php?Printable=true I'd been trying to ascertain her wellbeing for some time. I have her daughter's name and address, but her daughter doesn't seem to check her Facebook messages, and they must be some of the over 40% of Americans who have switched to cell phone only, which of course are not listed in phone directories. I was about to break down and write a snail mail when I came across this.

Something strange, legendary actress and star of my mom's favorite movie Maureen O'Hara, and author of my favorite book Barbee Oliver Carleton, shared a birthday! Maureen O'Hara was five days old when Ray was born and Barbara was three years and five days old on the same day!

George Clayton Johnson, 1929 -2015.

Sad to hear it. So glad I had the chance to meet him at Ray's birthday. He signed his Twilight Zone script book for me and drew a delightful little cartoon in it.

At Ray's 90th neither George nor Bill stayed for the entire time to avoid upstaging Ray.

This is my sister and me with George at Ray's 90th. I am the one with glasses and my sister is the one without glasses. George is wearing glasses but not on his face.

CORRECTION: NOT QUITE DEAD YET!

The same thing happened in 2008 when someone jumped the gun on announcing Forrest J. Ackerman's death when he was actually still in the hospital but not quite gone yet. Although Johnson's passing has been reported by a number of sources, according to his son Paul, George is still living as of an hour ago, and his death will not be official until Paul announces it. http://twilightzonewor.fr.yuku...?page=1#.VnxgYSh4X-A

Both Locus Magazine and Variety appear to have taken down their reports.

Sorry, George!

Yeah, I wonder who said that and how annoyed George's family is with them. Will be checking Internet Movie Database. It took them the longest to remove Wayne Knight's death date and he was not and still is not even dead!

It is now official: http://www.hollywoodreporter.c...dead-twilight-850954

"Unforgettable"
Saddened by the loss of Natalie Cole.

Her songs on Unforgettable with Love was her way of paying tribute to her late, legendary father, Nat "King" Cole.

This was the very first cd my wife and I owned when we moved into our home. We played it countless times as we painted, fixed up, arranged, and carpentered. Unforgettable with Love!! Indeed . . .
Peace.

DS! Yeah, another of iconic stature.

For just a moment, let us celebrate those whom we lost in 2015:
