Confirmed as being a heart attack. http://music.msn.com/music/article.aspx?news=708320 By the way, I didn't just worry out of a clear blue sky that he ought to be taking better care of himself. I read some time ago on a message board that he a severe drinking problem and had been a confirmed alcoholic for years, and, of course, the 60s are the age when such behaviors often catch up. I certainly didn't expect it the next morning after thinking about it the night before, though!

Oh, now that IS sad! For everyone who has listened to music for the last 50 or 60 years, and particularly his poor brother with whom he composed so many triumphs. Condolences to all their near and dear.
