The photo on the previous posting page was taken sometime around July, 2005. Ray had been given an Honory Doctor of Literature from the University of Ireland. What Angelica Houston and Merv Griffin had to do with it I am not sure. Anyone know ?
All the info I had was that it happened in Summer. So I guessed July. Sounds more like Spring to me.
I'll be at Ray's bookstore birthday bash next weekend. Several of us will likely post info and photos. Mystery and Imagination, 238 N. Brand Blvd, Glendale, CA ph:1 818 545 0206 NOON'O'CLOCK.

Madame Madeleine seems to need a gentle "God Bless You" here with our other loved ones!
Wrinkle in Time won the American Library Association's Newbury Medal for best American children's book. The book was rejected by more than 25 publishers before it was published. Persistence. Just as young Meg in search of her father!
Farewell MdE...

Jazz Great Joe Zawinul Dies at 75.
I like what he did before the fusion thing. Got to see him at the Monterey Jazz Festival in the '70s...
You can see him (if memory serves) playing there with Cannonball Adderly in the film "Play Misty For Me".
Robert Jordan, author of the acclaimed "Wheel of Time" series of fantasy novels, passed away yesterday at the age of 58, far too young. Details about his life and work can be found by clicking on the following link:
