this is my first time posting. it has been suggested that the new jj abrams movie "cloverfield" is based off of a old movie from the fifties called "the beast from 20,000 fathoms" which was a inspired by "the foghorn."

has anyone heard this?

From what I have read, it seems to be inspired more by Godzilla than anything else. The Wikipedia page ( here) describes the monster as being as big as a skyscraper. I don't think Bradbury's "Fog Horn" dinosaur was quite that big.
