Simpsons' Parody of Bradbury Story

For those of you interested in Simpsons/Bradbury connections, the most recent issue of The Simpsons' Treehouse of Horror (#16) contains a parody of Bradbury's story "The Coffin" (also known as "Wake for the Living"). The original story is already a parody (adapted by EC Comics and later by Ray himself for The Ray Bradbury Theater). But now you'll have to imagine a coffin filled with doughnuts.....

Forget to mention, Phil: it's the comic book, not the TV show (see attached cover); and you can get your discount coffin from "Ray and Brad's Burial Barn."

That's good news, because I don't get to see new Simpsons TV episodes for some months after their first airing in the US.

Now, which of us should write the first academic paper on Simpsons' adaptations of Bradbury? Perhaps we should leave that one to Prof. Eller...

My vote would be for Professor John Frink whose own story of scientific genius gone horribly wrong is told in this very volume.
