...Okay, here we go.
For anyone who isn't Nard Kordell, don't reply to this topic. You can, however; Watch the topic.

Nard Kordell, a long a ago I hear you stated that the group of 'Insane Clown Posse' (in my topic, Purgatory Is Odd) and you said they where "just a mainstream hybrid" - But how can you say that, I agree that they may be a hybrid sometimes (if you have not mistaken them by being the Slipknot) but in fact, they are in the largest underground label of Psychopathic Records, and have never seen the surface of Mainstream. Never. As even if it doesn't matter, not even on MtV, except in commercials. No music videos.
So, I think you where just like 'Oh, they are a band and they are mainstream.' Anyone who says ICP are mainstream are totally out of picture. It's just like saying that you can sell candy in a dentist's office; It's just won't work and doesn't fit in. The ICP is not mainstream; They have a gimmick called "Dark Carnival" (story-telling style, by vocals, beats and flows) and cannot be compared to anything 'mainstream', or should be put in a such group. Mainstream is; I.e. being celibrities, going straight trough the media circus and making "soft" music. Usually. In this case, Insane Clown Posse are not mainstream. They are driving their own style, outside of society's norms. I think you should check it out yourself, this is no screaming punk band. Well, maybe in some songs but then don't use that bass. I'm out, I have spoken.

This may be hard to believe...but I think you got me mixed up with someone else.
If you can show me where I said the above quote... attributed to me, I will send you the hypothetical nickle.

I think the above quote is too clever for my nonchalant mind to conceive...

OleManiaC:

I posted a reply to this message, but it didn't seem to get posted, and I don't have time to retype it. I was the one who posted the comments about Insane Clown Posse that you are referring to. Here's my points:

1) I had most of their album "The Great Milenko" memorized back in high school. I know ICP, I know what they're about, and I know the difference between ICP and Slipknot.
2) Where I live, ICP is quite mainstream.
3) I did say they had an interesting sound, and are quite surreal, and I give them credit for that. It mostly appeals to those in the midst of "teen angst" - and I think you'll eventually outgrow ICP and might end up taking a viewpoint similar to everyone else I knew who once listened to ICP.

If you'd like to continue this conversation, I'd be happy to do so over email. My address is kwinder123@yahoo.com.

I don't want to perpetuate conversations completely unrelated to Ray Bradbury or his works and ideas - the abundance of tangents on this message board is precisely why I haven't visited here in a couple of months (I'm not referring to the regulars who post here, but I'm sure they know that). I won't continue posting in this particular thread, so either contact me via email, or consider the matter closed.
