Robert Bloch and the 42nd World Science Fiction Convention
The link below will take you to the Hugo Awards presentation at the 42nd World Science Fiction Convention, held in 1984 in Anaheim, California. The great Robert Bloch was the emcee and is hilarious, as usual! He makes a joke about the reason for Ray Bradbury's absence at about the 7:38 point. The film version of SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES is one of the Hugo nominees for best dramatic presentation, the award of which can be seen at about the 43:00 mark. There is a certain sadness invoked by the video, since so many of the presenters and honorees are no longer with us, including Harlan Ellison, Larry Shaw, Jerry Pournelle, Octavia Butler and Mr. Bloch himself. The video lasts about an hour. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
