In his talks and lectures, Bradbury sometimes give recommendations on who we should be reading. Somebody has collated some notes based on this, and posted it all rather succinctly on this web page:

Apart from John Collier, a little Loren Eisely and a smidgeon of Eudora Welty, I haven't read many of these.

(And yes, smidgeon IS a good word, even if it isn't spelled that way. I think I picked it up from Tom Lehrer.)

Lehrer is a good word! And fun to say.
