Two reports about Ray's FBI file. Nothing terribly new (the files are very old, and have been discussed in Sam Weller's books and elsewhere), but there is some detail which may not be very familiar:

Thanks, whoever, this is a very entertaining document. Here we learn that ROY Bradbury wrote a film called The Beast From 20,000 PHANTOMS. Sticklers for accuracy, the FBI!

Yes, Phil. I too read the entire document. Quite an array of surveillance on a SF short story and magazine article writer, his wife "Margaret," et all.

Mr. B's ad in the paper was quite the attention getter. The blocked out passages, names, and locations really piqued my interest on what and who was also included in the intrigue. Captain Beatty...maybe!?

From March of 2021, the link below will take you to a podcast called "Ray Bradbury and the FBI." Co-hosts Jennifer Keishin Armstrong and Zakiya Dalia Harris "discuss Ray Bradbury, exploring how he defended freedom of imagination throughout his career, from using his science fiction to point out the evils of authoritarianism to publishing the incendiary classic Fahrenheit 451 to fighting McCarthyism." The guest for this episode is Jon Eller, co-founder of the Center for Ray Bradbury Studies at the Indiana University School of Liberal Arts.
