Can't trust that bunny. Jealous, don'tcha know.

Why am I NOT surprised that Tom Cruise and Mel Gibson are in on this?

Though Cruise will probably blame prescription medication and Gibson will probably blame the Jews.

Man, I had a quick look at that web-site. I don't mean to be rude, but... what a load of crap!

Now for something completely different.
After singing for several hours every day this week, Pascha (Orthodox Easter) was yesterday, so now I have dress rehearsals for the concert this coming weekend! I'll be gargling a lot and icing my feet!

May 3rd and 4th, The Santa Cruz County Symphony with the Cabrillo Symphonic Chorus, will be performing:

COPLAND
Fanfare for the Common Man
VAUGHAN WILLIAMS
Serenade to Music
IBERT Escales
STRAVINSKY
Symphony of Psalms
BORODIN
Polovtsian Dances

Richard,

I just learned that Taste Chicago, in Burbank, is actually owned by Joe Mantegna and his wife. The next time you are in town we must dine there. Maybe they'll let me put a DVD of The Wonderful Ice Cream Suit in their player while we enjoy...

Though WICS never received the acclaim it deserved, we have watched it numerous times as a family. The dialogue and narratives are pure poetry during various sequences throughout the movie. It is also a very humorous film!

Many do not know that this was Disney's first direct-to-video release. Mr. B wishes they'd give it a theatrical release. Buying it on DVD was like pulling teeth; with Disney deciding to only make it available to their video club members.

John, I learned about Taste Chicago in Burbank over the weekend while at the Festival of Books, when someone commented on the fact that the relish served on hot dogs at the Festival was not the bright emerald green color of relish you can get here in the Windy City. I was told Taste Chicago has great Chicago-style hot dogs. Convincing me that the place was authentic was the fact that I was told that, in addition to former Chicago resident Joe Mantegna being the owner, former Chicagoan George Wendt (of CHEERS fame) has also been known to frequent the establishment. Here's a link to their website:

As for THE WONDERFUL ICE CREAM SUIT, the film was always intended to be a made-for-cable production. However, given the tremendous audience reaction when it played here in Chicago years ago in a downtown movie theater as part of a fund-raising event (before it ever was shown on cable), I have always thought that Disney really missed the boat when they did not change their minds and give the film a theatrical release. I just watched my VHS tape of it again just a few weeks ago, and it's great!
