Hey - a recent photo. It's nice to live vicariously through jkt.

He's got new glasses (and the same medal). I like the look.

Here is a recent and truly stricking photo of Ray. This was the one used in the recent L.A. Times article.

This is all I can say for now but if you don't live in L.A. plan to be here on February 20th. I suggest you book a train, plane or automobile for what portents to be a spectacular day...a once in a lifetime event.

For those of you ever wondering what Ray's signature looked like in the early days of his long and everlasting literary career here is a good sample from 1948.

Ray must have had more time in 1948 - his signature since then has become somewhat abstracted from the original design!

I've been witness to hundreds at one sitting. My hand cramps up in sympathy after the first hour. In 1948 Dark Carnival had not been out for a year yet. Whatever happened to those dated stories? Smiler
