I read "The Man Who Would be Kong" by Andrew Fox. Has R.B. ever read it? Mightn't he like to? Do you suppose he inspired it?

All of these seem possible. I highly recommend it. Be prepared to feel like crying if YOU read it!

I don't know whether RB has read it (but I doubt it very much). The story can be read here:

I got a bit bored with the first half of the story (although, to be fair, that may be because I was reading online, which is rarely fun). The last section, however, features Willis O'Brien, who I'm sure is one of Ray's heroes. It has obvious parallels with Ray's story "Tyrannosaurus Rex", but with a more pleasant central character.

Yes, that is where I read it, too. Thank you for posting the link; I didn't want my initial post to be too long. I much prefer holding a book that is easier to flip through, not to mention easier to hold than my laptop. But when I'm starved for stories, online will suffice.

The story has the same humanity, pathos, and loss that comes from the writer bringing the reader to resonate with the old man who is the principal character, that Ray brings to his stories. Not to mention a love of King Kong! Good title, too.

At least for me. So much so, I wanted to share it.
