You want to blame her for people getting pregnant -- I don't. I respect her for helping persons who were in a very bad position. You can focus on the Catholic church's teaching on condoms if you want -- with Mother Theresa, I choose to focus on her unstinting service to the poor and outcast.

"Ignorant people making babies need to be taught how not to make them." Ignorant? you know these ignorant people, or you're just willing to make a broad generalization?

Chicago Sun-Times Monday, July 5, 2004 'Showcase Section'
Headline on article reads:
_________________________

'''LESS MOORE, 'FAHRENHEIT 9/11' IN IOWA'''

DECORAH, Iowa ---The president of a company that owns movie theaters in Iowa and Nebraska is refusing to show director Michael Moore's '''Fahrenheit 9/11'''.
R.L. Fridley, owner of Des Moines-based Fridley theaters, says the controversial documentary incites terrorism.

Fridley said in an e-mail message to company managers that the company does not... "play political propaganda films from either the right or the left".

"Our country is in a war against an enemy who would destroy our way of life, our culture and kill our people, " Fridley wrote. "These barbarians have shown through (the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001) and the recent beheadings that they will stop at nothing. I believe this film emboldens them and divides our country even more."

It is well -known that people who cannot read, have no idea about bacteria, and who have a very vague clue as to where babies come from are just the people M Theresa was helping. I am therefore making a sound generalization by calling them ignorant. Anyways, I never doubted her intentions, only her methods.

If someone else didn't post that, I was just about to. Funny! The news report I saw said they also ripped down her posters and did everything short of commit bodily harm. A regular riot!

Yeah, well the anti-Bush crowd are a lot of fun, too. One of the "Ben and Jerry's" guys has a traveling exhibit of the president in effigy with his pants catching fire. If he had a telephone wire to hang it from, the reference would be complete. Maybe Linda Ronstadt should join, to sing for the show.

Well,
can demolishing a casino ever be as violent as bush having his pants catch on fire? Probably not...

Translator,

I've never had my pants catch fire but I'll venture a guess and say it's probably more painful than having a casino trashed.

Point taken, though.

Best,

Pete

First, let's not exaggerate. They didn't trash the casino. It was standing at the end of it. They threw things at her and tore posters down.

Second, I DID set my pants on fire once, and it is noooo fun! I was starting little fires with a magnifying glass, and I wondered how Levi's jeans material would react. Some pain, some panic and a garden hose made me a bit wiser. But you have to ask, why did I need to "learn" that lesson?

As Forest Gump would say, "Stupid is as stupid does".

he he he, funny about denim and the mag glass...I once tried to "magnetize" a magnet by plugging a cord to the outlet and attaching the positive to one pole and the negative to the other...guess who made damages worth 3000...

The "pants on fire" display has come to be known as the "burning Bush." (Sorry, bad.)
