I attended the Play Dandelion Wine on opening night Saturday at The Fremont Theatre in South Pasadena with a packed house and many from the press in attendance. John King Tarpinian presented to Ray an original Joe Mugniani lithograph never seen before. I will let JKT tell the story of that piece of art.

Please, all who can. go and see this marvelous play. The actors are magnificent, and staging mavelous and you will cry tears of joy if the stories from the book have ever moved you thus. I did.

We were planning on being there, but had too much else going on that afternoon & evening.

For those who are interested in meeting him, I got an email from Donn Albright who tells me that he will be here from October 20-27, and will be attending the play sometime that week.

We will certainly be there when he is. Looking forryward to meeting him, and certainly to seeing this play.

jkt, I'll definitely try to drag FJA to this event when I come (or rather push him)!

A few months back a man, I will let him identify himself if he wishes, and posted on the forum that he had something he wanted to give to Mr. B. After a few email exchanges and phone calls, it was agreed that I would be his intermediary. We were going to try to present it at Mr. B’s birthday bash but that was agreed to be too chaotic of an event for the artwork.

The artwork was mailed to me and I kept it save until the time was right. The premiere of the new play, Dandelion Wine, seemed the best bet. I arranged with the director, Alan Hubbs, and a family member of Ray’s to both surprise him with this and to make sure he was prepared to say a few words about his friendship with Joe Mugnaini.

It went off with only one hitch…I unrolled the artwork only to show it to the audience UPSIDE-DOWN. Ooops. My only thought was that Nard or Doug Spaulding was not there to catch it on video for YouTube. Roll Eyes
